Welcome to the Southwest Washington Chapter of ICC
News
– Huge shout out to Jeremy Hedges with Entek Corporation for joining our chapter meeting last week and sharing with us what Entek does, some of the challenges they face, and how we can be better partners in this field. His presentation can be found under that chapter meeting info in our Events Calendar.
Also, congratulations to Elijah Nicholas for being nominated and voted in as the chapter’s education committee chair!
Another congratulations are in order for Sherri Williams for being approved to partner with Clark County in her sponsorship to International Code Council’s annual business meeting this fall. She’ll represent both entities well!
Lastly, thanks to the executive board for their hard work in revising the by-laws. Motion carried last week to approve of the final draft.
Please reach out if you’d like to get involved!

– Welcome Spring! During our last chapter meeting, we had the pleasure of having Bill Hanes with Maxitrol join us. He provided a lot of valuable information regarding the design, installation, and use of medium pressure gas regulators.
– Since then, we’d like to congratulate Camas’s Brian Smith for being re-elected to WABO’s C&R Committee chair. We would also like to congratulate Vancouver’s new assistant building official, Lauren DiPalma.
– Most recently, we had a successful Front Counter Review class put on by BCS.
– Please join us at our next events, see our Events Calendar for more information.

– At our January chapter meeting, Andy Higgins, ICC Director-at-Large, Customer Success Director City of Seattle, was kind enough to join us. Highlight of the meeting was his installation of the new chapter officers. Following the meeting, Andy gave the chapter an update to what his happening at ICC, as well as a brief WABO/SBCC update. Please see the agenda for more information.
– Our next chapter meeting will be Wednesday, March 18.
– The chapter would also like to send our condolences to the family of Jay Ponce, as he passed away last month. Jay was a huge asset to the chapter and the special inspection industry. For many years, Jay taught special inspection classes for us and was one of WABO’s only special inspection consultants. There will be a Celebration of Life for Jay in early February. Please reach out to us if you would like more information.
